Tonya Renada Moore was born in the back seat of her uncle’s red Opel (German car) in the parking lot of DC General Hospital in Washington DC. She was delivered by her grandmother, and her middle name, Renada, was chosen by her uncle and oddly enough means “reborn”.

Tonya was raised in the District of Columbia for the first thirteen years of her life and later moved to the suburbs of Maryland where she graduated high school in Bladensburg, MD. At age 28, she and her son moved to the Hampton roads area to further her career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk district.

She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix in Phoenix AZ., and her vast accounting knowledge and experiences span over two decades. She is currently employed by Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority in Portsmouth VA as a financial specialist. She is a board member on her neighborhood civic league and a leader in her church. Tonya now realizes her options for her future are limitless.

Tonya is married to Carlos Moore and has two children, Jacoby and Jasmine and currently resides in Chesapeake, Virginia with her husband and her mom.
